Absolutely! Health organisations recommend that you do not ingest more than 3g of sodium per day and softened water should not exceed 0.2g per liter.
Our water softeners comply with the standards, and unless there are any contraindications, you can consume softened water.
However, for an adequate sodium concentration, we recommend that you contact a Van Marcke Installs professional. This person will make the necessary adjustments.
Drinking softened water is not recommended for people with high blood pressure or for babies less than six months old. However, this also applies to unsoftened water, which can sometimes contain high levels of nitrates.

The amount you will need to spend on salt will depend on your annual consumption and the hardness of the water in your area.
To give you an idea, a family of four generally uses 5 x 25kg bags of salt per year. The cost of a bag is €15.74 excluding VAT. If you are in a similar situation, then we would advise you to budget around €200 per year.

Very slightly. In general, the installation of a softener leads to a 3% increase in water consumption for a household.
However, this is quickly offset by the benefits of softened water! For example, since there are less limescale deposits on your household appliances, your energy consumption decreases.
Similarly, you save money on softening products, descalers, shampoos or specific soaps.
The installation of our devices is possible as long as there is a water disposal nearby, even if it is located slightly higher than the softener.
